Useful Free tools to cleanup your PC


Here is a useful list to help keep your Windows personal computer (PC) clean and optimized.

  1. Download Avast Anti-Virus Free Edition - https://www.avast.com/
  2. Download SuperAntiSpyware Free Edition - http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html
  3. Download MalwareBytes Free Edition - https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/
  4. Download CCleaner Free Edition - https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/
  5. Download ZoneAlarm Free Firewall Edition - http://www.zonealarm.com/software/free-firewall/
  6. Uninstall Norton (search google for the "Norton Removal Tool") - https://support.norton.com/sp/en/au/home/current/solutions/v60392881_EndUserProfile_en_us

NB: some programs may require you to Reboot/Restart you PC, please Save and Close any programs before proceeding.
Install all of the above in the order listed.
If any of the above ask you if you want a Trial, say no, then the software will not time out.
Please take your time installing the software, carefully read each step. Doing a Custom Install, will give more options.

Install all of the above software, and run in this order.

  1. Run CCleaner, run Cleaner and Registry
  2. Run SuperAntiSpyware and also check for updates to Definitions.
  3. Run MalWareBytes and also check for updates to Definitions.
  4. Perform a Boot Time Scan with Avast Anti Virus. This will usually detect a hidden virus (after the first time, you only need to run this if you suspect a hidden virus).

Also make sure you have the latest Windows updates downloaded and installed.

The above programs 1, 2 and 3 can be run at least once a week. Avast Anti Virus, normally scans automatically in the background.
After all this your computer should be a lot cleaner, and protected better.
